One Easy Step to Create Physical Fitness Unique to Your Background
I recently talked to Evelyn of The Fab Chieftess to talk to her about the biggest thing I believe in, creating a physical fitness unique to your background and making sure it would last forever.
You can listen to the full episode of our talk here.
In our talk, we chatted about how you can make fitness fit into your specific needs and cultural background.
Our background
Believe it or not, both Eve and I are former athletes. She was into basketball while I was into Judo. Two completely different sports, but we both had one similarity. We worked out much more than an average person, and we could eat however we wanted.
As Eve and I aged, that privilege of eating whatever we wanted is no longer viable. It should not come as a surprise to you. We no longer participate in sports or be active as much as we were years ago. Our physique is not young enough to sabotage ¯\_(ツ)_/¯, our approach to health had to change.

The problem we both agree
The fitness industry does not have much focused on people of color and their life. Remember the latest advice for diet? Do not eat rice. What do you even mean? As Asian descent women, that is such an uncompromised position to have. Evelyn eats it once in a while, and I have it every day. Does that make us not being healthy?
If fitness goes against your entire life and culture, are you going to be able to keep it up in the long term? Sure, you can skip the rice and lose 20 pounds. But what are you going to do next after you are done losing weight? Gaining them back?
How to create physical fitness unique to your background
What did we come into agreement with? How do we go about creating physical fitness unique to our background? The answer is straightforward. Be honest with yourself and know what you truly need.
The answer has already been out there, but most are actively avoiding it. In the age of the Internet, more and more people are looking for quick fixes that magically work in a week. That is impossible. Investing in health is a long-term game. You cannot expect to fix yourself and be done with the whole thing.
That is where my 1-on-1 coaching program comes in. By working with each other for 3 months, you can slowly learn to build confidence in your body image, know how to exercise correctly, and prevent yourself from all the traps of misinformation. Click on the button below to find out more.
