Fit Feline: The Adventures of a Black Cat Who Loves to Exercise

It is this time of the year again, tabbies! ( *︾▽︾)

This month is Bèo, my little black cat’s birth month (she was adopted so we never know the exact birth date). She is turning a new page in being the perfect void that she is.

Just because Bèo is a kitty, it does not mean she is lazy. In fact, she is the opposite of what you would expect.

Read on for the story of a black cat who loves to exercise.

The Void’s Beginning

Once upon a time, there was a black cat named Bèo who lived in a cozy home with her loving owner. Bèo was your typical potato couch who would spend her days lounging around the house, napping and snacking on treats.

Her owner, Phoenix, was worried about Bèo’s lack of exercise and decided to take matters into her own hands. A kitty should be active and hunting around the house.

Bèo was very stubborn. She would run into her hiding spot when it was time to play. She never worked for treats, instead opted to blop on the floor with baby eyes.

The situation was dire.

The Black Cat Started to Move

Phoenix started by buying all kinds of interactive toys for Bèo to play with. She initially liked the wand cat toy.

She would chase after the little feathers while the bells rang. Bèo loved the feeling of her claws being stuck in the feather as the poor thing tried to get away.

Unfortunately, the bells soon annoyed Bèo very much. She was such a picky little kitty after all. She was the queen of the house, not some random pauper.

Phoenix was back at square one in getting Bèo to be active.

The Void Found a Way

For her next attempt, Phoenix went to ask everyone she knew. She needed more help in getting Bèo out of the comfort of her bed.

Someone suggested a catnip toy, however wonderful.

Catnip is quite addictive for cats without any side effects. Bèo tried fresh catnip before but she did not seem to care for it.

How about a toy stuffed with dried catnip? Maybe the dried stuff would be more potent. It was worth the try.

Surprise, surprise ヾ(⌐■_■)ノ♪

The little fishy was an instant hit. For the first time ever, Bèo’s eyes expanded to focus on a toy.

Her eyes became two perfect black beads, zooming in on the red fish.

She bit the catnip fishy, letting it drool down on the floor.

She would not let fishy go. Phoenix would try to pry fishy away and Bèo followed suit.

She was running at full speed to the next spot where fishy landed. Fishy was not going away any time soon.

Bèo forgot all about her bed. It was all fishy and zoomy time now.

Slowly, Bèo and Phoenix found a routine together. They would play with fishy after her snack time in the afternoon.

The Black Cat Who Loves to Exercise

Bèo had found a new exercise routine to add to her daily life. She loved it very much.

The original catnip fishy soon went tattered. Bèo was not going easy on her exercise.

Worry not, Phoenix continued to buy more fishies for her to keep exercising.

Bèo would always remind Phoenix it was time to play. She would run around the place where fishy was hidden.

She would coax her owner to start throwing fishy for her to catch. Bèo enjoyed the bonding time with Phoenix and would often purr loudly as she attacked the fishy.

Over time, Bèo became an active black cat who loves to exercise. Not only did she use all of her energy during the day, she became more affectionate and playful as she gained confidence in her new abilities.

Phoenix was thrilled to see Bèo’s transformation and was proud of the hard work they had put in together. Their bond had grown even stronger, and they were both happier and healthier for it.
