Unveiling the Transformation of My Website

A year ago, I got into a small “argument” with the cousins (*my family loves to bicker*), we came to the topic of the business

Why “be active is easy”? Isn’t it grammatically incorrect? Why would I want to be incorrect? What does it mean for me to be “wrong” when I’m trying to lead people to be healthy?

Those are legitimate questions. ___*( ̄皿 ̄)/____ But then, I thought…

What happens to being quirky and funny?

As it turned out, they certainly pushed my unconscious to achieve the next level.

With that, I quietly published a new site 6 months ago…

The Stage

Let’s go back to the family’s bickering moment. It was an endearing time.

No ill will from anyone, just the persistent questions of why.

Why would you want your name to be associated with something incorrect?

– that was the main issue.

I did not have a real good answer either. ̄へ ̄

I have dived deeper into the world of health & wellness.

More news articles were read about the goods and the bads.

Research studies came out in support or against preconceived notions.

But most importantly, I have changed as a fitness coach.

To be honest, I started out as a weight loss coach because of what I went through.

I was all about me and my journey. I made the mistake that many in the field had made before me, telling people to do what I have done.

It is not exactly wrong, but it is not entirely correct either.

Unveiling the Curtain

Amidst the confusion of my brand and business, I found barbell lifting and got going.

This is the kind of exercise I have never imagined myself doing.

Now, I cannot imagine myself not having strength training as a permanent part of my exercise routine.

It is not because of the gender stereotype (or maybe it was?).

It is not because I felt intimidating (Olympics lifting looks kinda fun).

It is more like I did not have access to quality equipment (all the bros at the gym tend to take all the racks up).

I have known this notion from all the years of education, “Women need strength training for their muscles and bones.”

Women, on average, have less muscle and bone mass than men. This is not a feature, it is a bug.

That means, we are more prone to aches and pains to osteoporosis in the future.

The easiest way to counteract all of these pesky problems is strength training.

Barbell lifting is a satisfying way of achieving just that. I got stronger and much more confident.

Our Main Act

The transformation of my website begins with the name itself.

Instead of the silly grammatical error, “Why shouldn’t I turn it into a pun?”

Hence, “Bee-ing Active is Easy” was born. And it has been this website’s name and URL for the past 6 months.

A bee is famous in literature for their hard working routines.

The bees work around the clock to visit flowers, collect the pollen, and make honey for their nest and for us humans.

Worker bee is what people call workers who work hard.

But the bees are not only working non stop like most people might think.

The bees work in routine and rest accordingly.

Think about it. If you see a bee, do you see it when the sun is up or down?

Yes, the bees take time off each and every day.

You might observe their labor and admire them for it.

They also take time off to rest and recharge in the safety of the nest.

We are not talking about the toxic “work hard play hard” slogan at work. We are talking about the discipline of the bees.

The ethic is what I aspire to be.

When I start a project, I need to put as much effort as possible (no more half-a**ing!!!)

At the same time, I need to schedule breaks and socialization to nourish my body and mind.

When it comes to strength training, regular work has turned me into somebody capable.

Yes! It has been 2 years since I last dislocated my shoulder and had to visit the emergency room!

That is a huge accomplishment (╹ڡ╹ )

I am now free to pursue other hobbies that keep my body moving without the fear of messing it up.

Maybe you should give it a try…

Here We Are at the Transformation of My Website

So we turned the website’s name into a pun with bees.

The bee symbolizes much more than hard work, it is both work and rest → discipline.

The vision for the future was still hazy.

What would become of this website and the business going forward?

This is where I reached out for help.

You see, anything arts is my biggest weakness. Mood boards have never worked for me.

I might be a visual person, but I am not the one creating the visuals.

With that, I asked my bestie for help. She is currently an artist who specializes in cleaning Korean comics (manhwa).

Here are some initial drafts we came up with:

initial draft for the bee logo

The bee has become the logo of the new website. And it has to do strength training.

Should the bee look cute or aggressive? That was a big question. A neutral bee was born. Hence, these weird graphics:

we are getting along with the logo surfacing

Forget about the face. The barbells look like toilet plungers, don’t you think? (/▽\)

At this point, the new logo that you see right now is surfacing. I bet you can see the similarities by now.

Thanks to the help of my friend, the final step of the transformation of my website was put into action.

A new logo = A new face = A new focus

No longer do I coach on weight loss. We are all about strength training now.

Strength training creates an unparalleled mental fortitude.

You have to build resilience and discipline in times of hardships as you work to lift weights.

There is also the sense of accomplishment once you finally achieve an impossible weight goal or a cool exercise.

From strength and resilience, your body will become toned. No more shaggy muscles. You are now strong and tight.

Imagine not fitting into your old yoga pants because your thighs get thiccc.

It is a new problem that you might want to have.

Seriously, the female empowerment you get from doing strength training itself is also worth it.

No more worrying about what you should and have to do. It is all about you and your decisions going forward.

You know why? Because you are right.

Thank you very much for making it down to the bottom of this page.

I hope that if you’ve been wondering why exercise hasn’t clicked for you, this blog article might have done the trick.
