Making Plant-Based Milk At Home – A ChefWave Review

With the popularity of plant-based milk soaring, you might want to make your own at home. After all, plant-based milk can be pricey when you buy them at grocery stores.

Additionally, the quality of plant-based milk can be uneven and full of preservatives. You cannot trust the quality out there.

When you make it at home, though, the process is messy. You have to let the nuts sit overnight, boil them in water, then make an effort to strain the pulps.

That is why I bought the ChefWave machine from Amazon to reduce stress while enjoying quality plant-based milk. Here is what I found.

diet: making plant-based milk at home, a chefwave milkmake review

Initial Impression of the Plant-Based Milk-Making Machine

The plant-based milk-making machine came in a massive box from Amazon.

It was put together very easily following the included manual. There are 3 important components: the main machine itself, the plastic waste basin, and the glass pitcher.

I cleaned each part with warm water first before the first use. Overall, the machine is well designed, not too sleek or modern, but not cheap either.

There is a water supply container attached to the back of the machine. I recommend using purified water for this machine since you do not want any scaling from hard water.

Be easy when you push open the ingredient chamber. It can snap up quite easily. When plugged in, the touchscreen options popped up.

The Positives

The biggest strength of this machine is how easy it is for me to make plant-based milk. All I need to do is fill up the water supply, add the nuts, and choose the correct settings.

The machine can make 10 different types of plant-based milk: walnut, rice, pecan, pistachio, hazelnut, seeds, hemp, spelt, quinoa, and sesame.

Besides the presets, you can experiment with other nuts and different combinations. ChefWave’s website has some suggestions.

The machine is also self-cleaning. You do not have to worry about the mess that usually comes with making plant-based milk at home.

It comes with 2 choices of milk volume: 10 oz and 20 oz. This way, you can make a small amount of fresh milk for consumption.

The machine will beep with a code if you ever encounter a problem. You can check the code in the panel on the side to adjust accordingly.

The choices are endless, and you can feel free to drink natural milk anytime you would like.

The Negatives

While the machine has many advantages, there are also some downsides. Though they are minor to me, I think you would also like to know.

The first is the self-cleaning cycle itself. Yes, it can be convenient to have the machine clean itself. The cycle starts automatically after a batch is made.

That means you will have to unplug the machine to stop this automatic cycle when you want to make more than one batch of plant-based milk.

Following the automatic self-cleaning cycle is the limited choice of volume this machine can make. 10 oz and 20 oz mean you can make up to 2 cups of plant-based milk.

If you want more, you must go through the slightly inconvenient process mentioned above.

Overall Review of the ChefWave Plant-Based Milk-Making Machine

The machine itself is a work of art. It does many wonderful things with its space-saving design.

The positives outweigh the negatives in my experience of using this machine for the past 2 months. It has helped me consistently make more plant-based milk at home.

I am in the process of adding more plant-based alternatives to my diet. The ChefWave machine helps in that process wonderfully.

To end the review, I would like to say that no one in relation to ChefWave sponsors this blog. My purchase is independent and in the pursuit of enriching my diet.
