5 Simple Reasons Why I Choose to Use Telehab for My Clients

First of all, what is Telehab? According to the VALD website, Telehab is an exercise prescription app that allows for a seamless experience between practitioners and their clients. The app is available on iOS, Android, and desktop devices.

So far, I am delighted with using the app to give my clients their personalized programs using my LIFE Standard. Here are the 5 simple reasons why I choose to use Telehab for my clients.

Expansive exercise program library

Vald Health has developed Telehab to a full-fledged exercise prescription program with 5000 and more coming exercises. This means there is an exercise routine for everyone. You and I can sit down on a warm afternoon to come up with your exercise plan, entirely at your level and satisfies all of your needs.

Furthermore, the app first focuses on rehabilitation, which means many of their exercises are designed for beginners with many modifications to make the moves easier. No worries about insane exercise moves that you cannot even fathom doing. Telehab exercises are straightforward but still force you to break a good sweat when you follow through with the program.

Easy to use app experience

As I mentioned initially, this app is available on all devices, from your iPhone, Samsung, or even laptops and computers. This means you are free to access your exercise library anywhere and any way you wish.

The app layout is very straightforward. To get started, simply login to your account using your email and password. You will immediately see a welcome screen with your assigned exercise program.

To get started exercising, simply touch on the name of the program and click start. For more details, feel free to read my next blog article coming out in 2 weeks (●’◡’●).

See the video demonstration

To see the video demonstration of the exercises, click on the arrow on the right to the name to see all details of your exercise prescription. Click on each picture to see the video. Also, you can see how much you should be working out for each move, so no need to worry about writing down or forgetting.

Other exercise features

Besides recording and guiding you through each exercise, Telehab also has other options to track how you feel about the session. You can report any pain you might feel or how hard you are practicing. In addition, you can choose to record yourself exercising on your phone. Afterward, your trainer will be able to see exactly what you do despite not having to schedule a time and watch you directly. This little attention to detail let me use Telehab for my clients.

When you are ready to exercise

When you are ready to exercise, the screen will display the move and you just have to click the start button in green. When an exercise session starts, the screen will display a timer, feel free to take as much as you need. You can choose to pause as needed. Click finish when you finish one set of exercises. A pop-up will ask how many reps (if applicable) of exercise you have completed. This feature is useful to track your progress. Then a rest timer will appear, do take this rest as it is much needed when working (pretty contrary to popular beliefs, no need to push yourself aimlessly).

Begin the next set of exercises similar to how you do for the first one. The process will repeat until you finish all of the exercises assigned to you.

If for some reason, you do not feel like doing an exercise that day, no need to skip the whole program. You can choose to skip individual exercises right underneath their name. This way, you are still working out at your own pace without losing the hard-earned streak

Are you excited to work with Telehab? I use it for clients and we all love it. Feel free to apply to my program down below.

How to finish the exercise and let me know (*/ω\*)

You have gone through your exercise program. Congratulations!!! Don’t close out the app just yet. It is time to finally submit your effort to the cloud. Take the time to look back at the number of repetitions or the length of the exercise. You also have the option to rate how much pain you experience or the level of effort you felt during the exercise. Both of the options here are set by you and your trainer prior.

Once everything looks good, click on the “Finish Session” button. On the next screen, click the “Continue” button to submit your exercise session and get back to the main dashboard. That is all you need to do!

Secure & encrypted video calls

I have clients from all over the world. There is no realistic way for us to meet in person regularly enough to talk. Luckily, we have video calls now. Generally, I prefer to use Zoom to talk to everyone because of its versatility and ease of use. At this point, pretty much everyone in the world has at least heard of them.

But for more encrypted telehealth conferences, my clients do have that option through Telehab. It is not as intuitive as Zoom, but the connection is entirely encrypted to follow all HIPAA rules and other countries’ board of medicine rules for telehealth conferences. The feature is handy when the clients and I choose to talk about more personal conditions that might not be suitable to communicate through Zoom.

Track workouts and efficiency

You know I talk about long-term benefits all the time. But we all need to see the quick wins, preferably immediately after we have done something right. The tracker feature provides that much-needed boost. You will be able to see the frequency of your time invested in exercise. You can also see how much, in percentage, you have completed the program.

Just being able to see visually how great you are at exercising, you are more likely to keep working out. It is that simple. You will not break that streak again when you accomplish the little goals throughout the program.

Exercise reminders to stick up to the exercise program

Exercise reminder is the latest feature added to the app in February 2021. Simply put, every client will receive a push notification on their phone to remind them to exercise at ONE specific time. The time, of course, is agreed before between my clients and me.

Reminders are a useful tool to push for exercise adherence. You are more likely to work out when there is somebody or something to remind you to do it. It is just rocket science. No need to complicate stuff for the sake of it. Don’t you agree?
